hello hello! i present to you a SECOND post, in one day, a small pittance for my multi-week absence before, during, and after the hitchin'. after my kvetching about not being sure how to dress from my hair, i got lots of "i've-been-there"s from you guys; and most of you basically said, you can still wear dresses, weirdo. my friend chris, after pointing out that we have the same haircut (a mixed compliment, to be sure,) gave me this advice: "channel Mia Farrow a la Rosemary's Baby and keep rocking the 60s clothes. She's my style icon these days." done and done, good sir! so here i am, doing my best mia farrow a la rosemary's baby. rosemary's lady, if you will. (oh, you won't? fair enough. it was a silly stretch of a title at best.)
top: j crew
dress: urban outfitters
brooch: thrifted
shoes: vintage ferragamos, ebay'd (similar here.)
i think i'll be dragging any shift dresses and button-up blouses out of storage soon.
until next time (much food and i THINK, very soon, the big wedding wrap-up soon to come!),

The hair is stunning on you. Very Janine Turner in season 1 of Northern Exposure (I thought she looked gorgeous too).
ReplyDeleteBang on! Nailed the look!
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness...
You are so pretty! You remind me a bit of twiggy with this hair style. You should really be a model. Loving that outfit!
ReplyDeleteDearest! Your haircut is wonderful and you can channel anything you want in it! I am loving it so much! Going short is sometimes so challenging, but then again, it's nice to be challenged. And you have accepted the challenge with relish: your outfit is fantastic, the red is a wonderful color for you!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this...the layering, the colors, the photos in general. I really enjoy doing the 60s thing, too, with my short hair. And after I cut my hair short, I started gravitating more toward ruffles, bows, etc., since I felt like the haircut would balance out extreme girliness. Also, my husband says your tattoo is rad.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks just beautiful like that. I would do anything to pull off the elfin crop! You dress is stunning but the hair is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had the most wonderful wedding, the pictures were so lovely to see!
You guys look so in love, I wish you all the happiness in the world!

adorable brooch. i like your blouse but i think i'd like it even better in a different colour if worn with the dress. you can certainly rock any era, ladee. don't just do this era. bring out your most feminine things. i always believed that the hairstyle shouldn't affect how you dress. if it does, then perhaps the only reason's that style's not for you, or "not you".
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! I love your brooch and the dress over the blouse. It's so chic!
ReplyDeleteYou're truly beautiful... I mean that with all honesty.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this look.. i need more dresses like that, but it's totally added to my virtual idea notebook. if that makes sense..
